The Pros: Johnny Chan
Johnny Chan was born in 1962, in Canto, China. He moved to the United States when he was 9. He is married with six children.
Johnny is nicknamed the "Orient Express." He likes to sit at the table with a lucky orange and he also wears a diamond rattle snake ring.
Johnny grew up in Houston, TX, where his dad was a reseraunt owner. Johnny attended the University of Houston for a couple of years where he studied Hotel Management. Johnny's dad planned on him joining the family buisiness but poker got in the way of that path.
In 1978 Johnny moved to Las Vegas, he started out playing at the $3 tables because he only had a bankroll of $120. While learning to play the game Johnny took a job at a casino, he even had to hock most of his jewlery before he started to win consistantly.
Johnny has been a living legend ever since his back-to-back World Series of Poker wins in 1987 and 1988 and he almost made it 3 in a row when he finished 2nd in 1989. He has a total of nine World Series of Poker Bracelets, which ties him for the most with Phil Helmuth Jr. and Doyle Brunson. Johnny was also inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2002.
