Mike Sexton was born on September 22, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio. Both of his parents were dance instructors.

Mike went to Ohio State University on a Gymnastics scholorship, where he earned a degree in public relations.

In 1970 Mike then joined the Army. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd airborn division. While in the Army he taught ballroom dancing as a part time job. One of Mike's students convinced him to leave the Army and work for him. Mike then took a job as a salesman selling products to military bases.

In 1978 Mike quit his job as a salesman and decided to play poker for the rest of his life. In 1985 he moved to Las Vegas.

In December of 2000 Mike was hired by Party Poker to help a team of software developers. Mike knew very little about software developement and the team of developers knew very little about poker, so in a way it was a match made in heaven.

It was Mike Sexton who came up with the idea for the Party Poker Millions tournament. Mike thought it would be a good idea to give the average player a chance to win their way into a big time tournament for $20. The Travel Channel decided to air the event. This tournament was a ratings success and set the ground work for the World Poker Tour.

You can now find Mike Sexton, along with Vince Van Patton, Hosting the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel.
