T.J. Cloutier was born on October 13, 1939 in Albany, California. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Daly City, California. He played basketball, football, and baseball and later went to the University of California Berkley on a baseball and football scholorship and played in the 1959 Rose Bowl. T.J. also played professional football for the Montreal Allouettes and the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.

T.J. first tried his hand at playing poker in 1956 when he was in the Army.

T.J. and his wife live together in Richardson, TX, and they have six children. He's written four books on poker and is one of the top tournament players in the world. He has 51 major poker tournament wins and is the leading all-time winner at the World Poker Championships.

T.J. has made two World Poker Tour final tables and he finished 8th in the Season Two championship. He describes himself as being very observant and having a photographic memory of how people play their hands in different situations.

Four WSOP bracelets and is the only player ever to win a bracelet for all 3 kinds of Omaha: Omaha high-low, Omaha high, and Pot-Limit Omaha.

Won $10,000 No Limit Holdem Tournament at the Diamond Jim Brady (Bicycle Club) three years straight (1990, 1991, 1992)
Won 2 Pot Limit Omaha Tournaments 2002
Won 3 Pot Limit Hold'em Tournaments 2003
Tournament Player of the Year, 1998 and 2002
Have won at least one title in all the following venues
